Sustainable Design Client Testimonials

Extremely pleased

In 2013, we engaged architect Trevor Scott to draw up plans for a two-car carport and workshop/studio in our backyard.

The brief included the use of recycled bricks, roofing iron and some other fittings recovered from a house on an adjoining property, which was destroyed by fire in 2010. In addition, we were able to obtain previously unused windows for use in the construction.

Trevor has an experienced background in drawing plans for environmentally responsible building and we subscribe to this philosophy. The workshop/studio section of the building features double glass pane windows on the north face at mezzanine level and insulating batts in the vaulted ceiling. This enables us to comfortably use the space during the hot summer days without the need for air-conditioning, and utilise winter sunshine to good effect in the cooler months.

In preparing the plans, Trevor proposed a partial mezzanine level over the workshop area, thus greatly increasing the work area available and allowing for greater flexibility of use.

Other recycled items included the wooden ‘barn’ doors from our old garage, the former 19thC back door of our house, and a decorative round leadlight window. The overall effect enables this new building to lend in with the older buildings in the neighbourhood.

Trevor has taken a keen interest in the construction of our project and we have been extremely pleased with the outcome.

Dear Sir/Madam

Re: Trevor Scott

Trevor Scott, a registered architect with a keen interest in sustainable design and energy conservation, has been working with Fieldforce Services since April 2009. I have known Trevor since May, 2009 when he told me that he wished to train with Fieldforce as an Energy Assessor. At that time Trevor participated in a Home Sustainability Course put on by Fieldforce at Tullamarine.

Trevor successfully completed the course and has been working as an Energy Assessor since December of last year. Trevor has worked diligently for the company, often going out of his way to maintain a high standard of performance. I have always found him to be honest and thoroughly reliable.

I have no hesitation in recommending his services to you.

Yours sincerely,

Shop 1, Old Bakery Walk

Eleven units for the Elderly are nearing completion on this parish property. They were designed by Mr Trevor Scott. Over the past eighteen months, I have had the pleasure of working with him on this project.

At all times, Mr Scott has been most professional, attentive and courteous. He has always kept me well informed of the progress of the development.

Mr Scott brings to his work a keen mind, and a creative way of using the available space. He has also been very sensitive to the placement of the units of our property: the original parish buildings date back to 1858!

I would happily and confidently work with him again. I look forward to that possibility at some stage in the future.

If you are looking for an architect who will work well, and sensitively, with Church related properties,I recommend him to you for your consideration.

Yours faithfully,

Father Michael Kalka, V.F., B.Th., Dip.T.Prac.

To whom it may concern,

Re: Trevor Scott, Architect

Trevor was the consulting Architect who developed our school’s Master Plan with us in 1991. During that year, for a period probably spanning 6 months, Trevor worked with a school committee and Peter Skilbeck from the Regional Office to evolve a master plan that everyone was happy with. In doing this Trevor had a tricky job keeping us all happy but still developing a plan that was reasonable and made effective use of the site.

During the job, Trevor:

  • Surveyed and photographed the school and its existing buildings
  • Held consultation meetings with the staff and myself
  • Was in constant consultation with Peter Skilbeck about the Plan
  • Held regular (2 or 3 a month at the beginning) meetings with the School Council committee responsible for the Master Plan development
  • Made appropriate changes to the developing plan as recommended by the committee
  • Briefed an landscape architect to provide plans for the school grounds area
  • Prepared several plans from concept to final draft and rigorously scrutinised these for compliance with DSE guidelines

Trevor did his job for us with diligence and with a very professional approach, which we all appreciated. The final plan produced has been accepted by the community; and has been and will be the focus of our endeavours to upgrade the school.

I have no hesitation in recommending Trevor’s work. We have been very pleased with his work for us at this school.

Yours sincerely,
