White Hills Units

A two stage single persons housing project of 12 units for the Victorian Government built around a shared courtyard, on the edge of Bendigo. In an echo of the Art Deco style, the units’ walls were designed and built in curved polychrome brick.

Niue Island Quarantine Station

An overseas project for a private client carried out in association with Helen Bernard Architect. The project involved the design and construction of a small cluster of buildings built in local materials to house and care for alpacas, prior to their arrival in Australia.

Bendigo Family Housing

This project included the design of 10 three bedroom units, built in low maintenance materials to a fairly tight budget.The low-to-the-ground, concrete slab floors lent themselves to access for the disabled, so 3 units were modified accordingly.

Kempsey Council Building

The project provided for design and construction of a lift and disabled toilets in an existing building.

Coffs Harbour TAFE

2004    ALTERATIONS TO TAFE SCHOOL                            COFFS HARBOUR, NSW         $70,000

Project: design of alterations to an existing school to provide trade teaching areas and workshops.

SW Rocks House

A design for a passive solar house on a bush covered, sloping site that lent itself to a split level approach.

Hall Nye Studio

2014    NEW CARPORT & STUDIO                                        CASTLEMAINE, VIC.            $150,000

Careful design of a carport and studio on a sloping block next to an existing Victorian house, led to an energy efficient design on two levels. The introduction of reverse veneer walls at first floor level made for an interesting mix of building materials in brick, corrugated iron and timber.

Primary school, Boort

1993    ALTERATIONS TO PRIMARY SCHOOL                         BOORT, VIC.                      $320,000

Redesign of internal circulation space so that existing classrooms open on to a sunny north facing corridor.

The project also included the landscaping and building of an amphitheatre for outdoor performance of plays, etc.
